Camo
So my sister is gorgeous, hence the redundant shots.
I got his jacket at the Sip and Swap with her in mind. She can rock anything from army boots to killer heels and make them look good.

Sweatpants?
I have never been a fan of sweatpants. They do absolutely nothing for anyone and though many people may think they are comfy I cannot stand wearing baggy sweatpants for fear of the terrible draft that tends to waft through them. Today I have MANY errands to run so decided to wear my new yoga pants. In order to stray from the ‘workout’ look I’m pairing them with a plaid shirt and blanket scarf.
Thoughts?

Birthday Suit
My birthday present was a Canon Rebel T2i with an HD lens! ahhhhh! I was on the verge of tears after receiving it...how beautiful are these pictures! Every detail is captured (which can be a bad thing but I can take a hit to the ego if it allows me to tote this beauty around from now on).
My pictures are going to look like they're on steroids from here on out.
This is fantastic.
I got this Levi Corduroy jacket at the Sip and Swap last week and cut it up into a vest...the color is a little different so I think I may have to wait till next summer when I have a little more color.
I like it with nothing underneath but also the denim shirt captures the color really well...what do you think?

Lettuce Fingers
And these are my lettuce monster pictures. Enjoy.
Color me Leopard
(Clogs, Dansko...I know, I was surprised too)
I have been house sitting for three cats this weekend. Yes, three cats! And though I have never been a “cat person” I must admit Henry, Gus, Olive and I are forming quite a bond. My leopard clogs have their full attention and everyone else’s (I’ve been wearing them around town and all eyes have been going to my feet).
I got these wild things in Boston (not my usual thrifting….can't lie, sometimes I get a little freaked out by second hand shoes) but I did wear them with my garment district skirt/dress from the fashion show last week and I think you can still pull them off with a flannel shirt.
What do you think?

Sipping and Swapping
I was taught at a young age that envy is ugly, and have been quite successful at practicing the art of goodwill until last night.
If there could have been a color for my mood…it would have been nuclear green.
For as long as I can remember, my friends and I have been having clothing swaps at each other’s homes and I have always been looking for a way to make money through it. Last night at Somerville’s Arts at the Armory, Swapaholics, Amy Chase and Melissa Massello did just that and my mom and I attended the event with swappable clothing in tow along with a camera.
I got in as press to take photos before the show and just as the masses were filtering in, my battery died so unfortunately I was unable to capture the sheer madness of the scene. The partygoers showed their true colors as they shoved their way through the racks with iron fists and linebacker moves. About ten minutes in, all of the clothing was either strewn about on the floor or stuffed into seam-breaking bags.
Luckily, I didn’t go home empty handed. My goal is to style my items on the blog throughout the rest of the week so stay tuned.

The Classic Oxford
I am a firm believer in the classic oxford shirt. While some of my looks come and go, I can honestly say that the oversized button-down is one that has been with me since entering middle school. Lately I have being going overboard with this particular shirt but I absolutely love it!

Second Time Around Fashion Show
Last night I had the pleasure of being invited to the Second Time Around Fashion Show at the W Hotel Boston, MA. I came to the city in the afternoon with a jacket, heels and a goal to find the rest of my outfit for dirt cheap that afternoon. I lucked out at the Garment District and found a sweater knit skirt and funky dangly earrings and a scarf from Nina's closet (bill =$12)…the rest is history.
It was a great event with a fall theme that captured lots of sequins, military inspired jackets, strappy sandals, big graphic tees and gold hue dresses. Nina(who took the amazing pictures above!) and I spent the evening sipping St. Germain cocktails and finding inspiration in many of the looks strutting down the runway.
