new way to bead

before
rose bead takes the place of a missing gem
rainbow earring hiding the weathered spots
after: finished product

My lovely friend Pia found this piece at Salvation Army and passed it on to me at the clothing swap a few weeks ago. Finally, yesterday morning I got my act together and threw some misfit old earrings on it in hopes of bringing this old clutch back to life.

Miu Miu? I don't get it...

(12:30am...I'm grumpy, restless and confused)
I've been trying to wrap my head around this absolutely horrendous excuse for a shoe and I refuse to hold back any longer.

All I can think of are lead weights colored by children and then strapped onto ones feet.

I feel like an anti drug campaign...but seriously who is pulling everyone's puppet strings?

Flowers

the structured jacket from August Wish List
Floral Jacket (Ralph Lauren at Savers $10)
Jeans (Delias)
Pashmina (No Clue)

I'm beyond ready for fall. This morning was so crisp and cool out and the idea of one more muggy day when I can't be in the water is totally upsetting. I wish I could wear this all today but I have a feeling that the temperature will be changing in the next hour.
This Ralph Lauren jacket was hidden between the old winter coats at Savers. I loved the pattern and had no idea the designer till I was in line.

Silk Shirt...Check

Silk Blouse (Newport Clothing Swap $0)
Levi Cutoffs (Newport Clothing Swap $0)

Morning Clothing Swap at Bernadette 's in Newport

I have finally started on my August Wish List...

Yesterday a few lovely ladies got together for a small but sweet clothing swap and I left with some beautiful pieces including this light mint blouse which was exactly what I had been looking for! It has an elastic band at the waist, which makes it easier to adjust on the stomach and hips.

Nightgowns

Leopard Nightgown (Macy's $15)
Light Sweater (Garment District 50 cents)

I've had this nightgown for a few years and forgot about how absolutely shocking the idea of wearing nightwear out of the house is until I went to a party in this dress last week. Everyone loved it and couldn't believe it was meant for sleeping in.

The best thing about wearing nightgowns is they are almost always considerably less money than an actual sundress. It's fantastic.
